Order of Study

Normally i tell the people who  listen from the site to start with sadanapancaka (for tamil knowing only) and then to listen to first 6 chapters of Pancadasi. now, one will have an idea about, why one should study shastra.

Then, the order is to study, sankya, yoga, tarka (nyaya/vaisheshika), poorvamimamsa and vedanta paribhasha. once the knowledge of the six darshanas are aquired, on can continue, to listen to the rest of  pancadasi (7-15).
Followed by Bhagavad Gita. And then comes the upanishads :here the style follwed by the tradition is
–  Isa, kena, kata, prasna, mundaka, mandukya, aiteriya, taiteriya,  chandogya and brhadaranyaka.
The non-traditional (atleast in teaching) people start with mundaka saying the escuse, the ease of  understanding. when one goes through the other shastras then the other order will be fine.  because, one undergoes the training of  purvamimamsa, the knowledge of the karma .. will be there so when we do isa it will be easy to understand.
Later, comes the final portion of the Prastana Traya, Brahma Sutra. For which complete download is available in tamil and partially in English.
For studying sanskrit we have antoine a few chapters uploaded. and if one is inteested in the traditional approach to the language too, we have laghu siddanta kaumudi both in tamil and english.and books in tamil for the same, for following the class.
